Bernardo Carpio

                                                    

                                         My first impression with Bernardo Carpio is that he is living a simple life.

                                          Bernardo Carpio is a legendary figure in the Philippine Mythology who said to be the cause of earthquakes. There are numerous versions of this tale. Some versions say Bernardo Carpio is a giant, as supported by the enormous footsteps he has reputedly left behind in the mountains of Montalban.Others say he was the size of an ordinary man, all versions agree he had a strength that was similar to that of Hercules.

                                              The tale of Bernardo Carpio can be considered an ethological myth which explains the occurence of  earthquakes. Interestingly, the area which hosts the legend of Bernardo Carpio is also home to the West Valley Fault System ( formerly called the Marikina Valley Fault System).

                                                   The basic form of the legend is that Bernardo Carpio, a being of great strength, is trapped in between two great rocks in the Mountains of Montalban.

                                                   According to one version of the tale, Bernardo Carpio was a son of infante Jimena and Don Sancho Diaz.The infante was cloistered by her brother King Alfonso, who was at that time was very powerful, because of her forbidden love with Don Sancho. Don Sancho was incarcerated, and his eyes were to be plucked out.Bernardo was left to the care of Don Rubio, wgo divulged the love affair.

Legend of Mayon Volcano

                                       

                        The Legend of Mayon Volcano is at the abay that people inspired the natives to come up with one of the most exceptional Philippine legend.

                      The Legend of Mayon Volcano says that a long time ago, they used to live a beautiful girl called Darang Magayon, who had many guys after her from various tribes, one of them was Pagtuga, the tribal chief from Iriga,who was also a great hunter. But Darang Magayon was not interested on him.

                                                 Mayon is a classic strato volcano type of volcano capped by a small central summit crater. The cone is considered to be the world's most perfectly foermed volcano for its symmetry, which was formed through layers of pyroclastic and lava flows from past eruptions and erosion.

                                               The eruptions on the Mayon Volcano, are the sings of love between the 2 lovers, and all year long disperse rain to keep the flowers and plants fresh, so it stays beautiful.

                                               Many people do not know that the Legend of the Mayon Volcano is like a Romeo and Juliet story, the volcano is growing in the place where Magayon was buried, people rememberd Darang Magayon as a "Mayon Volcano".

Legend Of Maria Makiling

The legend was a sad one because of the love of Maria Makiling. It was sad because of the death of Maria's loved one. The story relates us to our loves today. It was very interesting because of the composition of the story. The story was amazing because it has mystical people like Maria Makiling.

                                                        There was a beautiful woman named Maria Makiling. She was kind and had many suitors. She was asked who she loves.then the rest of the suitors got angry to who was chosen. They accused the favorite and was sentenced to death. Maria got mad and punished those suitors. And she promises to punish anyone who can't accept their choice

The story was in laguna at mount makiling. It was written during the spanish era. It was a legend because it has mystical creatures like Maria. It was made by the people of laguna. It was made to be for people with problems about what happened to them.

The story teaches us to accept our faith. It tells us to be kind to our enemies. It is made for every people. It is for people who can't accept life. It teaches us to be kind to others.


Maria Makiling's story is still happening in our time today.

Legend Of Mango

                           

                                          

                          

Mango is the fruit we enjoy, the ripe ones are sweet and goes into desserts, we usually see this on the grocery store. My first impression to the Legend of Mango is full of good morals that we could do in life like helping people without expecting any return. It is also good for kids because they can learn a lot, because nowadays kids are addicted to gadgets and they don't have time to read.

                                                         Once upon a time, there was a boy named Ben who had a wonderful heart and the son of Maria and Juan. One day, Ben saw a old beggar and he took pity on him and he decided to invite the beggar into their home and he cooked food for him.Ben was not a rich boy but it did not stop him from helping the others. On the other day, while he was lookng for foods, he saw an old man who was hungry, he took pity on him and invited him to go to their home

and Ben gave the old man some food and clothes. Unfortunately, he got very ill and he died his parents mourned over his loss.Next day, after Ben's death, a fairy came to his parents and asked for Ben's heart, they agreed and gave it to her. The fairy dug and buried Ben's heart, it turned into a fruit-bearing tree whose fruit is in the shape of heart and taste sweet.People were amazed upon this discovering this fruit and when they tasted it they were happy as it's the sweetest fruit.

                                                       The Legend of Mango happened in the province where the family of Ben lives in. Their family belong in the middle class. It is also a place where fruits and others have grown. It is a place where you can breathe fresh air maybe because there is no pollution. People help each other even though they are strangers.

                                                      The positive points in the Legend of Mango is when he help the need like beggars.Sharing what the family have to a person you don't know.Accepting completely staraners to their home and welcome him.

                                                     The Legend of Mango is a legend who have many lesson to learn and it is also a best legend for kids. It  also teach us good deeds that we can do everyday.
